Adventure in Egypt: A Tour Through the History and Beauty of the Nile

Arrival at Cairo International Airport. A Spanish-speaking representative will assist you with all immigration and visa formalities. Transfer to the Intercontinental Citystars hotel or similar. Overnight in Cairo.

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, transfer to the Dahabeya Hadeel, where you will begin an unforgettable cruise along the legendary Nile River. Boarding and lunch on board. Afterwards, in a private air-conditioned vehicle, we will head to the pier on Philae Island, where a speedboat will take us to the new site of the Temple of Isis, built by Ptolemy II in honour of the goddess. Afterwards, we will visit the impressive Aswan Dam before returning to the Dahabeya. You will have the rest of the afternoon free, with the option of additional excursions. We recommend an optional visit to the Nubian Village (see supplement), where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant Nubian culture and discover its rich crafts. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Sail to Kom Ombo. Breakfast on board as you enjoy the scenery along the Nile. Upon arrival in Kom Ombo, you will take a walking excursion to visit the majestic Temple of Kom Ombo, one of a kind as it is dedicated to two deities: Haroeris, the Falcon God, and Sobek, the Crocodile God. Afterwards, you will visit a fascinating exhibition of mummified crocodiles, where you will be able to appreciate their excellent state of preservation and gain a deeper understanding of ancient Egyptian culture. Return to the boat to enjoy lunch on board and a free afternoon to relax or explore on your own. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board as we continue sailing towards Gebel El Silsila, a place where the banks of the Nile River narrow to form impressive cliffs. This site, known in ancient Egypt as Jeny, meaning "place of rowing", was famous for its high-quality sandstone quarries, exploited from the 18th dynasty to the Greco-Roman era. The rock extracted from Gebel El Silsila was used to build such emblematic monuments as the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch on board, the trip continues towards Favara Island, where we will enjoy an outdoor barbecue for dinner, surrounded by the natural charm of the island. Overnight on board.

Breakfast on board as we sail to Edfu. Upon arrival, we will take a picturesque horse-drawn carriage ride to the majestic Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. This sanctuary, the best preserved Egyptian temple, remained hidden under the sand for centuries, until it was rediscovered by French archaeologist Auguste Mariette in the mid-19th century. After the visit, return to the ship and continue sailing to El-Kab. Lunch on board. We will visit the ruins of El-Kab, the ancient city of Nejab, which was the capital of the Third Nome of Upper Egypt from the 18th Dynasty during the New Kingdom. Then, we will sail to Esna to cross the lock and continue our journey to Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board. We will enjoy a full day of sailing, delighting in the impressive landscapes that the Nile River offers us along both banks, while taking advantage of the comforts and services of the Dahabeya. Lunch on board. Upon arrival in Luxor, we will visit the imposing Temples of Karnak and Luxor, two of the most emblematic complexes of the ancient Egyptian civilization. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board and disembarkation. Afterwards, departure by private vehicle accompanied by a local English-speaking guide to the west bank of the Nile, where we will explore the famous Necropolis of Thebes, one of the most important archaeological treasures of ancient Egyptian civilization. The visit will begin in the impressive Valley of the Kings, home to the most famous pharaonic tombs. You will have the opportunity to enter up to three of these tombs, including the spectacular Tomb of Pharaoh Seti I, the most majestic in the Valley. Its passages and chambers, carved deep into the Theban mountain, are adorned with polychrome bas-reliefs of extraordinary quality, making this tomb an unforgettable experience. The tomb was discovered by the intrepid Egyptologist Giovanni Battista Belzoni. The visit will continue to the Mortuary Temple of Ramses III, known today as the Temple of Medinet Habu, and will offer a panoramic view of the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, with its impressive architecture. We will also admire the remains of the Temple of Amenophis III, where the Colossi of Memnon, two imposing twin stone statues, will welcome us with their ancient majesty. At the end, transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, transfer to the Sheraton Cairo Hotel. Dinner will be free and accommodation is included.

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your local guide and depart by private vehicle to the legendary Giza Plateau, home to the imposing Pyramids of Giza, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. This majestic monument, at 230 meters high, remains an astonishing testament to ancient Egyptian civilization.

The visit will continue to the Valley Temple, part of the funerary complex of King Khafre, where the enigmatic Sphinx is located, a colossal figure with a human head and a lion's body that guards the enclosure with its imposing presence. From the esplanade, you will have an unparalleled panoramic view of the three pyramids, an ideal place to capture memorable photos.

After this fascinating morning, you will have lunch at the Cairo Pyramids Hotel before continuing your exploration to the Saqqara Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will marvel at the Funerary Complex of King Zoser and its iconic Step Pyramid, the first stone construction in the world, marking the beginning of pyramid architecture. You will also visit some mastabas, tombs dedicated to nobles of the time, which reveal fascinating details of life and death in ancient Egypt.

At the end of the day, return to the hotel. Dinner is free, and accommodation is included.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by private air-conditioned vehicle to explore Cairo, Africa's largest city, with visits to its main points of interest. The day begins at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, home to the legendary Treasure of Tutankhamun, among other valuable collections of objects spanning the different periods of the Pharaonic Era. This visit offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural richness and millennia-old history of Egypt.

Afterwards, you will enjoy lunch at the Abdel Wahab restaurant, followed by a visit to the historic Coptic Quarter. This neighborhood, known for its rich religious diversity, is a living testimony to the coexistence between Christians, Jews and Muslims throughout the centuries. Here, you can admire the Hanging Church, built on the ruins of the Babylon Fortress; the Church of St. Sergius, which according to tradition welcomed the Holy Family during their flight from Herod; and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest in the country, dating back to the 7th century.

Next, you will head to the Citadel of Saladin, a medieval fortress that houses the impressive Mosque of Mohamed Ali, along with several museums and gardens hidden within its walls. The visit continues in Fatimid Cairo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an area founded in the 10th century as the royal residence of the Fatimid Caliphs. This area is rich in mosques and Islamic buildings of great historical significance.

To round off the day, you can stroll through the famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar, an ancient 14th-century trading center, where you can enjoy the traditional art of haggling while purchasing unique souvenirs. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
